Ryan Clary
From the shores of Long Island to the serene banks of Lake Gaston, Ryan Clary's journey in hospitality spans nearly two decades. His story began at 14, bussing tables in his hometown of Bellport, and evolved into a passionate career behind the bar. While studying at Iona University, Ryan cut his teeth at the historic Beechmont Tavern—rumored to be the "levee" in Don McLean's "American Pie"—where he discovered his calling for crafting cocktails and creating memorable guest experiences.
Ryan's diverse background includes everything from exclusive clubs to fine-casual establishments, bringing a wealth of knowledge to his role as Bar Manager at Blue Jay Bistro. Since joining the team in January 2022, he's been instrumental in shaping the restaurant's beverage program. When he's not perfecting his latest cocktail creation, you'll find him renovating his home in Roanoke Rapids, quoting his favorite movies, coding, or spending quality time with his beloved dogs, Rocky and Cassie.il.
